One of the of the few things I do not enjoy when it comes to books is when someone makes a book into a series. I am not a fan of reading series just because it is hard for me to get into the book and I find myself always critiquing it. However, there are a few rare occasions when the book surpasses expectations and allows the reader to fully emerge in the book as they were able to in the first book. This is one of those rare occasions. Genesis picks up right after the chaos left behind in the cliffhanger in the first book, Nemesis, following Min, Noah, and the other sixty-two members of Fire Lake’s sophomore class. The characters have changed from Nemesis, there are two that have drastically changed (for they have become reluctant and almost cruel) in this new world. Without giving to much away I have to say that I became hooked almost right away. Genesis is a fast paced novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Reichs has done an incredible job of creating the roller-coaster ride of emotions that was needed and very much appreciated for Genesis. Genesis is a out of this world sequel to Nemesis and just when you think it could be over, you realize its not! If you haven't read Nemesis, read that and then make sure to read this enthralling sequel!
Overall I am rating this a 4.5 out of 5 and as a must read!

Just like its predecessor 'The Curse' kept me on the edge of my seat and kept me racing to the next page to find out what was going to happen next. The novel starts off directly where the the first book ended. I like when stories do that. Right away the reader is diving back into the action. Girton, was able to do something that many authors have issues doing, making the sequel just as edgy as the first book. Bringing in new additions and new twits Girton is able to bring this series to a whole other level. My only critique with the book is I feel the cover doesn't do the book justice. However, that shouldn't hold you back from reading this book.
If you have read the first book and liked it then you will be blown away with this paranormal romance novel!

Heather Ezell's thrilling debut novel, Nothing Left to Burn, is one of that will make you stop and think for a long time after you finish reading. When I first started reading this I had no idea what to expect (okay yes that is a small lie I did read the blurb so in that aspect I new exactly what the main gist of the story was) but before I realized it I was already halfway though.
This novel is the perfect coming of age story. It has humor, mystery, tension, and classic teen moments. It has the sense of "Oh my god, did that just happen?" and "Did he really just say that?" With a timeline of 24 hours and dual POVs, Nothing Left to Burn, leaves the readers on the edge of their seats. This story was simply flaws, well done Ms. Ezell, what a perfect way to enter the literary world.
