Wonderland is an imaginative, fast-paced novel, and is the start to a unique retelling on the fairy tales we all know and love. It answers the question as old as time - how did these characters get there to begin with.
This is one of the best retellings I have read in a long time with that in mind, there was a lot going on and a few to many characters taking away from this book. I get that Frie wanted to introduce characters for future books now but she could have found a more subtle way of doing it.
With that aside, Wonderland leaves you wanting more and the door open enough for her series to progress.

This novel is the first of a planned historical fiction trilogy beautifully written by Dorah Blume. This novel follows a famous artist, Botticelli, it goes on about his life and his incredible paintings. The main plot-line for this installment is about Botticelli meeting a beautiful woman who became the muse for his most famous painting: La Primavera. One thing I love more than a nail biting thriller is a beautifully written historical fiction novel. Botticelli's Muse was probably one of the longest Historical fiction novels I have read to date. It shows behind the scenes of an artists life and what inspires him to paint and what makes him not want to paint. It is a novel that that stands out from the rest when you look into it deep. It not only is amazingly written you get to see incredible illustrations as you read. It is one of those things that isn't necessary but it helps give us a feel for what to expect in the upcoming chapter. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to dive into a world of life of an artist. Be warned that is one of those books that you will read and need to step away from and come back to because of how its written.

I got this book free in exchange for an honest review.
This incredible debut novel captured my attention from the first line 'The scream pierced the silence in the midst of the night.' There are few authors who are able to write a book that hooks you from beginning to end with out loosing you somewhere in the middle at least once but Girton is one those authors who knows exactly what to put, where, and how to create the perfect set of characters to keep the readers interest, Mine included. This one of those novels that really hard for me to stick with my no spoilers review pact, all I have to say is that the is exactly how first books in series should be.
I wasn't sure when I saw the cover how good the book really was, I do that as much as I try not to the cover well it's not the best cover out there but I think everything could be pixely and I would still recommend this novel because this is one of those hidden gems you don't come across that often. H. L. Girton is a new author that you should put on your watchlist for upcoming books.
